Day by day

Monday, February 2nd: Mexican trainee Ivette arrived to our English lesson. We introduced ourselves to her and Ivette introduced the culture of her country to us. We learned how to introduce ourselves in Spanish too and we found out that Mexico is more than just a desert. She also explained to us how to prepare the cactuses for food. In the end of the lesson, we played one Mexican game called Loteria and the winners received a sweet, but also piquant reward.
We had our next lesson with very sympathetic Leonardo from Brazil. He prepared a presentation about his country for us and played a video with traditional Brazilian carnival. We also learnt some introducing phrases in Portuguese and Leo compered the Brazilian habits to the Czech republic. He also played a video about the region in the south of Brazil where he lives.

Tuesday, February 3rd: We spent our Tuesday lesson with Chinese trainee Maggie. She had a nice presentation about her native country and she showed us something about her culture. She taught us how to introduce in Chinese and she also brought her traditional dress for women. She played us two videos, one about the Forbidden city and a story about the origin of Chinese zodiac.

Wednesday, February 4th: We started out day with kind trainee Jessica from Australia. She widened our geographical knowledge about this continent and she also presented us the most known Australian animals. This lesson was very educative since English is Jessica’s native language.
Right after a short break, we had a lesson with Michelle from Indonesia. We have learned a lot of new things about this interesting country and we had an opportunity to taste some Indonesian biscuits which we liked a lot.  In the end of the lesson Michelle taught us traditional Indonesian dance composite from four parts.
Our third lesson was led by Joanna from Taiwan. We repeated how to introduce in Chinese and Joanna wrote our names on the board in Chinese which was very interesting and amusing for us. Then she showed us traditional Chinese pockets for money.

Thursday, February 5th: We spent two lessons with Brazilian Leo again. We sang well known song Ai se eu te pego and then two less known songs, Anna Julia and Aonde quer que eu vá. Leo also showed us top 5 Brazilian foods and with a little help from a video, he taught us how to dance samba. We taught him how to dance polka back.

Friday, February 6th: Last day, we had two lessons with Maggie. She widened our Chinese vocabulary with some useful phrases such as thank you, sorry, how are you and I love you. We also tried to count in Chinese. Maggie told us how their school system works and she played us some famous musicians from China. Then we all danced to very catchy Chinese song called The little apple.
Then we were listening to Jess’ presentation about Aborigines and we made our own paper boomerangs with her which really came back.
In the very end of the week, little goodbye ceremony was organized on Děvín. We met all the trainees there again and we thanked them with an enormous applause.
