PROGRAM

1st day

We had to wake up early that day. The depart took place early in the morning. We met in front of our little school in Šlapanice. Our journey went through Austria to a small town called Bled, which is situated on the coast of a lake of the same name.

After dealing with our accomodation, we went out to get to know the beauty of this small picturesque town. Our walk went around the lake of Bled where we saw an amazingly beautiful island with a church of the Ascension of Virgin Mary. On the way back we stopped to see the Bled castle, majestically supervising the lake from a huge cliff over it. But this is not the end of our first slovenian day yet.

After lunch, we took our bus to visit the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. We visited the historic centre and got amazed specifically by the architecture of Josip Plečnik, a slovenian architect. We even boarded a little ship and set sail to cruise around on the river Ljubljanica throughout the city. Other historical monuments were shown to us, such as Trojmostovje, Zmajski most, Monastery Križanke, The Castle of Ljubljana, old market and a cathedral.

In the evening, we had returned to Bled to eat dinner and have some free time on our own.

2nd day

The second day was overloaded with fun activities. Right after the breakfast, we headed out for the lake of Bohinj. This place granted us a beautiful sight on the highest mountain of the Julian Alps and whole Slovenia - Triglav with its height of 2 864 meters above the sea level.

Later we went on a walk to the waterfall Savica. We took a lift to the top of the mountain Vogel, spent 3 hours walking around, taking photos and enjoying beautiful landscapes.

After such an amazing day, we have returned back to our hotel, had a dinner and spare time for our own activities.

3rd day

Finally the sea had awaited us today, thus we were all very excited. After the breakfast we went to head towards the coast of the Adriatic sea. We stopped to go on a walk in the nature reserve Škocjanske jame (UNESCO). We saw some beautiful cave systems.

That day we also visited cities such as Portorož and Terst to witness their beautiful historical parts.

4th day

Right in the morning we headed for another trip. We visited world known cave system Postojna (UNESCO). It is the biggest accessible cave system in Europe. Tourist path through the cave system is 5 kilometers long, but the whole discovered cave system is around 20 kilometers long. This particular cave is famous as well for its train ride throughout it.

In the afternoon we visited Lipica and its stud farm. After a short walk around we returned to the hotel and enjoyed our dinner.

5th day

The last day of our abroad trip was dedicated to Venezia. We took a train to get to the city. Our class spent the whole day in this picturesque city.

We were shown a lot of beautiful monuments, such as its main square, Basilica of the Saint Marco, Palace of the Venezian Doge, fish market, Venezian churches, we also saw beautiful and famous bridges like Ponte di Rialto and Ponte dei Sospiri. In the afternoon, we had time on our own and everyone could go buy souvenirs and take a look around, in shops and other places, depending on their interests.

In the evening, the bus was waiting to take us back to the Czech Republic.

6th day

In the morning, we arrived happily and without any harm back to our school in Šlapanice.
